student visa for all
The student visa (subclass
500), the only student visa since July 1, 2016, corresponds to you if you wish
to follow one of the following courses:
A university, for people who
wish to join an undergraduate or postgraduate cycle in a graduate school. After
a certain number of years, depending on the degree course, you will be able to
obtain a Bachelor's Degree, an Associate Degree, a Graduate Certificate or
Diploma, a Higher Education Diploma or Advanced Diploma, and a Master's Degree
by coursework. See also our records: Cycles, Diplomas and Equivalencies and
Australian Universities.
A TAFE institution, which is
a vocationally oriented study called "Vocational Education and Training
(VET) courses". Following this course, you will be able to obtain one of
the following diplomas: Certificates I, II, III or IV, Diploma and Advanced
Diploma, and Vocational Graduate Certificate or Diploma. See also our file:
TAFE Professional Institutes.
A language study trip to
learn English in Australia. Here, this curriculum is called "English
Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS)". Consult also
our file: linguistic stays in Australia for detail all about of Visa visit to our website Australia Business Visa Consultant in Lahore.
Research diplomas. The
student visa also applies to students who wish to obtain a Master's Degree by
Research or a Doctoral Degree, generally all courses of the Postgraduate
Research Sector.
Studies that do not lead to
a degree, in other words "non-award courses".
A primary school, college or
high school. If you are under the age of 18, you can be accompanied by a parent
who will have to apply for a Student Guardian Visa (subclass 590).
An exchange program, in
secondary school.
For those sponsored by the
Department of Defense or the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in
Australia.
Note that you will be able
to follow several courses (two or more) at the same time with only one visa,
which immigration calls "Course Packaging"! However, you will need to
find out about the conditions set by the Immigration Department. The student
visa allows you to stay in Australia for the duration of your studies (and
between one and three months more, depending on your course), and to return and
leave the country as you see fit during this period of time.
If you want to earn some
money, it's possible! You will need to find a small student job. However, do
not exceed 40 hours of work allowed for two weeks outside school holidays where
this limit is lifted. To know that students who study a Masters' degree by
research or a doctoral degree (PhD), degrees focused on research, have no restrictions
when working hours.
Also note that you can not work
before classes start. If you plan to bring one of your loved ones, check with
Australian immigration.
